Yes, isn't it? The job is mind-boggling, when you consider how many exceptional buildings are in the city. It's a daunting job just keeping up those that are publicly owned, let alone all those that are privately owned and need help with proper restoration.
Think of the career opporunities for expert restorers of paintings, frescos, gold leaf, wood and stone carving, etc. just in Rome, not to mention the rest of Italy!
