The five star Punta Tragara offers a more limited service but the location is hard to beat. The hotel sits on the edge of a cliff overlooking the wilder side of the island, from the Faraglioni rocks to Marina Piccola. It’s a 10-15 minute walk from Capri town centre but in this exclusive setting, the fragrance of Mediterranean shrubs fills the air.

The Punta Tragara was designed by Le Corbusier with a bold modern look and pink walls. The 43 rooms and suites are set in three buildings around the pools, with the Penthouse claiming a large panoramic terrace and a bathroom with infra red sauna corner.

The Monzu restaurant offers authentic Mediterranean cuisine and there is a small beauty centre for anti-stress massage, facials and reflexology.
